Since we united last summer, the following changes have taken place at Polk County Animal Control:
Regular Facebook posts for adoptable pets with better photos and thoughtful bios
Increased outreach to rescues
Cleaner kennels
Towels and blankets were distributed for warmth
A new Facebook post showing efforts to reunite lost pets with their families
These aren’t random improvements. These developments signal that public pressure works.
The shelter knows we’re watching. The county knows we’re organizing. Now it’s time for updated ordinances, stronger policies, and real programs.
