Did you know that the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has implemented a statewide change requiring all driver’s license knowledge and skills examinations to be administered exclusively in the English Language, effective on February 6, 2026?
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) states the move aims to enhance road safety by ensuring all drivers clearly understand traffic laws, road signs, and driving instructions. There has been a string of foreign drivers including illegal aliens that have killed American drivers. These foreigner and illegal immigrant drivers all had low, or no understanding of the English language, nor ability to read road signs clearly also written in the English language.
According to the Florida DMV website, there will not be allowed any language translation services, including interpreters, who will no longer be permitted during any part of the exam, including oral components. Also, all printed exams and documents are in English. Other languages such as Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Portuguese, will be phased out.
The new rule covers all driver license types, including non-commercial, commercial learner’s permits (CLP), and commercial driver’s licenses (CDL).
