Name of Incident: 320 Parkview Place Transformer Spill

Incident Description
A garbage truck struck a power line, pulling a utility pole over. The pole held three transformers. All three transformers crashed onto the asphalt parking lot, rupturing all three transformers. Each transformer held 35 gallons of non-PCB mineral oil/dielectric fluid; the total amount of mineral oil/dielectric fluid spilled was 105 gallons. The oil spread across the asphalt parking lot and some of the surrounding grassy area. Oil absorbents were immediately placed to contain the spill and prevent it from entering the onsite stormwater system. A-C-T Environmental was called to help with the cleanup of the spill.
