A 22-year-old pizza delivery driver in Kissimmee is facing serious felony charges after authorities say she returned to a motel and brutally attacked a customer over a $2 tip.
According to investigators, the victim, her boyfriend, and her 5-year-old daughter were staying at the Riviera Motel to celebrate a birthday when they ordered about $33 worth of food from Marco’s Pizza.
Court records state the delivery driver, identified as Brianna Alvelo, was handed a $50 bill but did not have change. After searching for smaller bills, the customer ultimately left a $2 tip.
Roughly 90 minutes later, authorities say two masked individuals dressed in black forced their way into the motel room. An affidavit from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office alleges one suspect pointed a silver revolver at the boyfriend and ordered him into the bathroom, while the second suspect — believed to be Alvelo — pulled out a pocketknife.
Investigators say the suspect went through the woman’s purse and smashed the child’s Nintendo Switch. When the mother tried to shield her daughter, she was stabbed multiple times. Officials report she suffered 14 stab wounds to her chest, arms, legs, and abdomen. The assault reportedly stopped when the armed suspect told the attacker it was time to leave.
While being treated at a hospital for her injuries, the woman learned she was pregnant.
Security footage allegedly shows a red Toyota arriving earlier for the pizza delivery and returning later with two masked individuals. Investigators confirmed Alvelo was working that night and drove a red Toyota Camry. Records show she clocked out shortly after 10 p.m.
Alvelo has been charged with attempted murder, home invasion with a firearm, kidnapping, and aggravated assault. She is currently being held at the Osceola County Jail. Prosecutors have described the charges as punishable by life in prison.
