Polk County Fire Rescue (PCFR) assisted Fort Meade Fire Department, Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) with the rescue of an entrapped owl on Monday, March 9. The owl was suspended in the air and appeared to be tangled in fishing line. Ladder 15’s crew, using their ladder, walked out to the owl and helped cut it down, and then turned it over to PCSO and FWC to finish removing the filament wrapped around the wing.
