Mi Escuela Montessori is preparing for a major transition as it moves toward its new campus in Bartow. Here is the latest on the relocation and expansion plans:
New Location & Timeline
- Address: The new campus is located at 1702 N. Wilson Ave. within the Stuart Crossing development in Bartow.
- Opening Window: Construction is currently underway. While a specific opening date hasn’t been finalized, the school expects to begin moving operations later this year, to have everything fully transitioned to the Bartow campus by January 2027.
Campus Features
The 60,000-square-foot facility is designed to support a “whole child” approach and will include:
- A dedicated student kitchen and a science lab.
- An art studio equipped with a kiln.
- A dance space and a music studio.
- Extensive teaching gardens and outdoor learning environments.
Expansion & Access
- Student Capacity: The move will allow the school to nearly double its enrollment, growing from its current 376 students to approximately 700.
- Transportation: To help families with the shift to Bartow, the school is adding a second bus and expanding its transportation routes across Polk County.
- Funding: In April 2026, the school was awarded a $75,000 capital grant from the GiveWell Community Foundation to support the development of this new early childhood access.
Since the school was founded in Lakeland in 2021, this move represents a significant milestone in making their bilingual Montessori model accessible to more families in the region.
