The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has scheduled several nightly closures for that intersection next week as part of the ongoing interchange improvement project.

If you are planning to travel through the area during the evening or early morning, here is what you need to know:
Closure Schedule
The detours will be in effect nightly from Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29, between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Planned Detours
- SR 33 (Northbound & Southbound): The roadway will be closed directly at the I-4 overpass.
- Northbound traffic will be detoured via University Boulevard.
- Southbound traffic will be detoured via Tomkow Road.
- I-4 Off-Ramps (Exit 38): Both the eastbound and westbound off-ramps to SR 33 will be closed. Drivers will be directed to continue to Exit 33 and follow posted signs to return to SR 33.
- Truck Traffic: Northbound trucks will be routed onto I-4 Eastbound to Exit 44 (SR 559) to re-enter SR 33. Southbound trucks will follow the Tomkow Road detour.
The construction schedules are heavily dependent on the weather, so these dates could shift if there are unexpected delays.
