Polk Pride entering 11th edition

Polk Pride is heading into its 11th edition in June 2026, remaining resilient through shifting cultural climates. Since launching in 2015, the annual event series has served as a central hub for visibility, education, and community across Polk County.

This year’s theme—“Proud Through the Storm”—vividly speaks to that exact spirit of perseverance in the face of national and state-level social headwinds.

Polk Pride 2026 Event Lineup

The festivities culminate in mid-June with a diverse schedule aimed at fostering connection, family-friendly celebration, and creative expression:

  • Pride for Youth: A dedicated, chaperoned safe space designed specifically for LGBTQ+ youth ages 11 to 17 to connect and celebrate.
  • Pride in Faith: An open panel event featuring local faith leaders and guest speakers sharing inclusive theological perspectives and experiences.
  • Pride in the Park (The Main Event): Taking place on Saturday, June 20, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Munn Park in downtown Lakeland. The historic park transforms into a festival ground featuring live entertainment, local food trucks, and dozens of booths from LGBTQ-friendly businesses and community organizations.
  • Pride After Dark: The official 21+ closing celebration happening Saturday night at Eala’s Speakeasy (310 E Lemon St) featuring a heavy-hitting drag lineup, local DJs, and a high-energy wrap to the week.

Despite broader political debates, the local organizers, volunteers, and partnering organizations like the Lakeland Youth Alliance continue to prioritize creating places where everyone feels welcome right here at home.
