One of the cats in our care became ill. While the cat was Panleuk NEGATIVE, SPCA Florida wants to be extra cautious. We have sent out multiple samples to ensure we know what we are dealing with prior to adopting any cats/kittens from our campus. The test results are expected in 48-72 hours, so we will be pausing all cat adoptions beginning today (June 22) at 11:00 a.m. until the results are received.
We understand this may be disappointing for those hoping to meet or take home a new feline family member, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding while we work through this temporary situation.
The health, safety, and well-being of the animals in our care remain our highest priority. We expect cat adoptions to resume in 48 hours and will provide updates if anything changes.
Thank you for your continued support of SPCA Florida and the cats who call our shelter home. ![]()
