A significant emergency response is underway at the Amazon warehouse located at 1760 County Line Road in Lakeland after a suspicious package was reported this afternoon.
Lakeland Fire Rescue, Lakeland Police, and Polk County Fire Rescue are all on scene. The State Fire Marshal’s Office has also responded, along with a bomb squad, to evaluate the package and determine whether any threat exists.
The incident was initially dispatched around 2:51 p.m. as a hazardous condition.
This remains an active investigation. Anyone in the area should avoid interfering with emergency operations and allow crews room to work while the package is examined.
