PAGANS MOTORCYCLE GANG MEMBER ARRESTED AFTER VIOLENT CONFRONTATION AT LAKELAND BIKE NIGHT

A motorcycle night at Gator’s Dockside in Lakeland turned violent after members of opposing motorcycle groups reportedly became involved in a confrontation.

According to the arrest affidavit, 36-year-old Thomas Mark Lovell, identified by investigators as a documented member of the Pagans Outlaw Motorcycle Gang, was at the restaurant on August 20 along with members of the Outlaws and other motorcycle clubs.

Investigators say Lovell was initially attacked by members of an opposing group, leaving him with significant facial injuries.

After the attack, several people reportedly fled the area. Deputies allege Lovell then armed himself with a hammer and swung it at one man, narrowly missing him.

A second man was attempting to leave on his motorcycle when Lovell allegedly struck him in the back of his helmet with the hammer, causing his head to violently shift and nearly causing him to crash.

Both individuals reportedly sought medical attention at a later time.

Investigators seized the damaged helmet along with surveillance and cellphone video of the incident.

Lovell was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail on two counts of attempted first-degree murder and a criminal mischief charge.

Investigators also allege the offenses were committed in furtherance of a criminal gang and should be subject to Florida’s criminal-gang enhancement statute.
