His pitch to the rest of us? We have to “compromise” on privacy to stay safe.
Then people online turned the cameras around. They shared his address and a Street View shot of his house, and suddenly privacy mattered a whole lot. Google blurred his home. Photos reportedly came down from Zillow and Redfin.
So your plate gets scanned every time you drive to work, the pharmacy, or your mom’s house. His front door gets a blur filter.
And the harm isn’t hypothetical.
There have been at least 50 cases of police misconduct involving unauthorized Flock access. Flock’s big fix is to cut data retention from 30 days to 7.
More than 50 cities have canceled their contracts in recent months.
