Hurricane Isaias continues to gain strength while threatening the Florida Gulf Coast.

The storm is forecast to move in a northeast direction, with possible landfall coming along the Florida Panhandle, the southern coasts of Alabama or Mississippi, or the eastern coast of Louisiana.
On Thursday, hurricane hunters are expected to take to the skies and fly into the heart of the storm.

They will be flying in one of the most famous hurricane hunter aircraft in the world, nicknamed “Miss Piggy.”
The plane, which is celebrating its 50th year in service, also flew through Hurricane Andrew.

These flights are crucial for measuring the strength of the storm and determining potential future forecast tracks.
