Incident Description
Approximately 6,000 gallons of raw wastewater seeped from a manhole and collected on the ground and road in the immediate vicinity. Further investigation revealed the incident resulted from float level indicators caught in debris (a rag mat) in the wet well at near-by Lift Station #209 (2885 Crews Lake Drive). The float level indicators were restored when the debris was removed. Approximately 2,000 gallons were recovered and properly disposed of in accordance with regulatory requirements. The affected areas were washed down and treated with lime for disinfection. There were no waterways affected by the discharge. Clean-up action was completed at 10:55 AM on July 24, 2019.
