The Florida Southern College men’s golf team sits atop the 17-team field after the second round of the 2019 Cougar Invitational presented by AFLAC. The event is hosted by Columbus State University, and being played at the Country Club of Columbus.
The Mocs shot a 289 (+5) in the first round on Monday morning, before returning with a tournament low 273 (-11) in the second round Monday afternoon.
Individually, sophomore Johnny Tucker has been red hot, and his combined four-under is tied for second best, just three strokes off the lead. Tucker shot a one-under 70 in the first round, then a three-under 68 in the second round.
Freshman Chris Fosdick went 71-69-140, and sits in a tie for tenth place at -2. Sophomore Max Coutsolioutsos is also under par through two, at -1. His 74-67has him tied for 13th place.
Redshirt freshman Adam Alvarez shot 74-70-144 (+2), and is tied for 31st place.
The two-day, three-round event concludes tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 9:00 a.m.
