American playwright, screenwriter, and author Neil Simon’s Tony Award-winning comedy “Biloxi Blues” is the second part of his semi-autobiographical trilogy of plays about a writer growing up in New York during the 1930s and 1940s. This play features Eugene Jerome, a young army recruit during WWII at basic training, as he learns about life and love (along with some harsher lessons) while stationed at boot camp in Biloxi, Mississippi. During his journey, he meets up with a number of younger recruits, a Biloxi beauty, and a local prostitute – learning that life can be both ugly and tender.
