Behind an even-par 72 performance from Nathalie Svensson, the Florida Southern College women’s golf team is in the lead after Day One at the Saint Leo Invitational, held at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club. The nine-team event will conclude on Tuesday, October 15.
Svensson, a sophomore, was one-under 35 on the front nine, and returned with a one-over 37 on the back nine. Her even par round places her in a tie for the best round on the day.
Sophomore Loren Perez is one stroke off the lead, shooting a +1, 73. Senior Amanda Gartrell is tied for 12th at +3, 75, followed by Lacey Tucker. The sophomore shot a 76 (+4), and is in a tie for 15th place.
