PSC Eagles fall to ASA on Sophomore Night -

Polk State soccer ended the regular season with a 2-1 loss to ASA College (Miami) in Lakeland yesterday on Sophomore Night.

After a scoreless first half, the Silver Storm took a 1-0 lead on a goal in the 47^th minute.

The Eagles answered in the 55^th minute when Angelina Cortez scored.

ASA scored the winning goal in the 60th minute and added another in the 74^th.

ASA took 18 shots and had seven goalkeeper saves. Polk State had 12 shots and 13 saves by goalkeeper Celeste Chiles.

After the contest, sophomores Cassandra Bernardo, Matti Campbell, Celeste Chiles, Samantha Gutierrez, Malia Murphy, Daniela Ramos, Ciarra Rava, Alexis Smith, Zariya Smith, Xiomara Lewis-Ruggiano received on-field recognition with their friends and families.

The Eagles (0-8-1) return to action Oct. 22 against Broward College (3-4-2) in the NJCAA District/FCSAA State Tournament.
