The Southeastern University men’s and women’s cross-country teams earned recognition from the conference this week, as they swept The Sun Conference Runners of the Week honors. Senior Mario Perez won the honor on the men’s side, and sophomore Julia Rohm earned the honor on the women’s side.
Perez finished 69th overall in a field of 311 runners that featured 18 programs that were ranked or receiving votes, finishing his 8K with a time of 26:33.
Rohm finished 17th overall with a time of 18:52. She led a Fire squad that finished fifth out of twenty-six teams in a field filled with ranked and receiving votes teams, and placed ahead of No. 6 Indiana Wesleyan, No. 9 Cornerstone, and No.13 Rocky Mountain.
The Fire will race again in the Sun Conference Championships in Hardeeville, S.C. on November 9th.
