Southeastern University junior kicker David Larson was named the Mid-South Conference Sun Division Special Teams Player of the Week for the fifth time this season.
Larson broke his own school record with a 52-yard field goal during Saturday’s 39-14 win over Webber International. The Lakeview, Mich. native recorded nine total points in the game, which is right at his NAIA-leading average per contest.
Additionally, Larson averaged 63.8 yards per kickoff with five touchbacks which kept the Warriors from starting a drive beyond their own 25-yard line.
This also marks the ninth time in Larson’s career he’s won the award to go along with an NAIA Special Teams Player of the Week Award last season.
The Fire will close out the regular season on Saturday at Faulkner.
