The Southeastern University wrestling team moved up two spots in the latest version of the NAIA Coaches’ Poll, released this afternoon, achieving its highest ranking in program history.
SEU checked in at seventh following a 6-0 start to its 2019-20 season, which included wins over No. 3 and No. 19 in the preseason ranking last weekend.
In addition to the Top 10 ranking, the Fire have 10 wrestlers ranked in the Top 20 at their respective weight classes with half of those in the Top 10.
Leading the way is Dylan Chatterton, ranked fourth at 157. Both Jaaziel Santana (125) and Ethan Owen (141) are ranked seventh, and Olson Delisca (133) and Kyle Kirkham (165) ranked eighth.
At 174, Coleman Bryant checks in at 11th and Andreus Bond is now 13th at 149. Stephen Kelle also jumped into the poll at 165 at No. 16. Jesse Pryor is 19th at 197 and Isaac Crowell is 20th at 125.
The Fire are back in action on Saturday to take on Cumberlands, Indiana Tech, and Reinhardt at the Fire Duals.
