The Florida Southern men’s swimming team defeated Indian River State on Friday evening, by a 163-98 score.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mocs got off to a great start, winning the opening 400-medley relay. The “A” entry of Brandon Dyck, Matias Lopez, Miguel Bernotti, and Carlos Bernotti finished in 3:25.21, a full second ahead of their closest competition.
- Up next, Luka Prostran claimed the first of his two individual victories, winning the 1,000-free in 9:36.47. Daniel Rodriguez finished third in the race at 9:46.09.
- In the third event, the 200-free, the Mocs swept gold and silver, as Carlos Bernotti and Levi Parsons finished in 1:43.04 and 1:45.91, respectively.
- Other winners included Dyck in the 100-back (51.78) and 200-back (1:52.73), Talor Hamilton in the 50-free (21.21), Carlos Bernotti in the 100-free (46.87), Lopez in the 200-breast (2:07.78) and 400-IM (4:02.56), and Prostran in the 500-free (4:39.77).
UP NEXT
The Mocs now begin preparations for the upcoming Sunshine State Conference meet. The four-day extravaganza will take place in Clearwater, Fla., February 13-16.
