Six Polk State basketball players have received postseason honors.
Clarence Jackson and Tekorian “TK” Smith were named to First Team All Suncoast Conference. Smith also made the NJCAA All Region Eight ream.
Tommie Lewis, Kerry Richardson, Malcolm Stevenson, and Bernat Vanaclocha Sanchez earned Second Team All Suncoast Conference.
A freshman guard from Memphis, Tenn., Smith ranked fourth in the FCSAA in points-per-game (18.1) and fifth in total points (506). He also finished his Polk State career with 1,087 points. He will continue his academic and athletic career at Georgia Southern University.
Jackson, a freshman guard/forward from Dublin, Ga., ranked fifth in the FCSAA in rebounds (238) and eighth in rebounds-per-game (8.2). He also shot 50.7 percent from the field.
A freshman guard from Vero Beach, Lewis scored 221 points, grabbed 110 rebounds, made 89 assists, and had 63 steals.
Richardson, a sophomore forward from Riverdale, Ga., scored 192 points, averaging 7.7 per game. He also tallied 139 rebounds and 38 blocks.
A sophomore guard from Orlando, Stevenson averaged 14.4 points per game and shot 50.5 percent from the field. He had 95 rebounds and 31 steals. He plans to continue his academic and athletic career at Queens University of Charlotte (N.C.).
Vanaclocha, a sophomore center from Carlet, Spain, averaged 5.2 points per game, shooting 57.5 percent from the field. He grabbed 106 rebounds and blocked 12 shots.
Polk State finished 21-10 and ranked No. 6 in the FCSAA in its third season under Head Coach Brandon Giles.
