The Florida Southern College men’s swimming program has produced five All-Americans in 2020, as recognized by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). They are Miguel Bernotti, Brandon Dyck, Matias Lopez, Luka Prostran, and Cole Smith.
All five attended the 2020 NCAA Division II National Championships, held March 11-14, 2020, at the SPIRE Institute – Aquatics Center, in Geneva, Ohio. The event was canceled on March 12, after the morning’s preliminary round events.
This year’s Division II selections were made as follows: In contested events, the top eight finalists are named to the first team while the consolation finalists were named Honorable Mention. In events that were not contested, individual and relay qualifiers selected for the championship are named All-American.
Individually, Bernotti earned First Team All-American status in the 200-butterfly, Dyck in the 100- and 200-backstroke, Lopez in the 200-back and Honorable Mention in the 400-IM, and Prostran and Smith in the 1,650-freestyle. The 400-medley relay squad of Bernotti, Dyck, Lopez, and Prostran earned Honorable Mention.
