Tekorian “TK” Smith of Polk State basketball has committed to continuing his academic and athletic career at Kent State University.
A sophomore from Memphis, Smith earned First Team All Suncoast Conference and NJCAA All Region Eight Team honors for the 2019-20 season.
“For a kid to come to us with zero scholarship offers from a four-year university and then end up with 21 different offers just tells you not only how talented he is but also how hard he works for what he wants out of this game,” said Head Coach Brandon Giles.
“TK will do great at the next level because he won’t let anyone defeat him. Kent State’s fan base, coaching staff, and faculty will enjoy being around TK as he continues to grow into a great man off the floor.”
Smith, a 6-4 guard ranked, fourth in the FCSAA in points-per-game (18.1) and fifth in total points (506) this past season.
After setting a Polk State freshman scoring record with 574 points, averaging 19.1 points per game, hefinished his Polk State career with 1,087 points.
