At approximately 3:15 AM, Wednesday, April 7, #Lakeland #Firefighters responded to a structure fire at 2121 Blue Highland Drive. Upon arriving, firefighters discovered the home was vacant.
Due to the fact that there was no risk to anyone inside, defensive firefighting tactics were used to extinguish the flames from the exterior; this avoided unnecessary risk to the firefighters’ safety and allowed firefighters to protect the nearby occupied homes.
Thankfully, there were no injuries. The cause is unknown and is currently under investigation by the State of Florida’s Fire Marshal’s Office.
