On August 4, 1984, Ambrose “Rowdy” Gaines earned three Olympic Gold Medals at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, California. Gaines medaled in the individual 100-meter freestyle and two relays, the 4×100-meter freestyle relay, and 4×100-meter medley relay.
