Instead of fixing the issue with a 100% viable option that saves taxpayers money and time. The policy is to kill them all. And put the bodies in the Polk county dump.
Polk County continues to rank #1 in Florida for shelter animals killed
The euthanasia rate for dogs was 11% and for cats 50% in Polk County.
Polk County residents saved thousands of animals through adoptions in 2017, but even with those efforts, more than 8,800 cats and dogs were euthanized, according to statistics from the county’s Animal Control Division. But the number of euthanized has grown to over 12,000 in 2021.
Time to stop this madness, Sheriff. “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, “said Albert Einstein. So is Grady Judd insane?
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), the humane approach to addressing community cat populations, works. It saves cats’ lives and is effective. TNR improves the lives of cats, addresses community concerns, reduces complaints about cats, and stops the breeding cycle. TNR improves the co-existence between outdoor cats and humans in our shared environment. This is why so many cities and communities are adopting it.
Scientific studies and communities with TNR programs are proof that TNR reduces and stabilizes populations of community cats.
In a Trap-Neuter-Return program, community cats are humanely trapped (with box traps), brought to a veterinarian to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped (the universal sign that a community cat has been neutered and vaccinated), and then returned to their outdoor home.
I am not impressed with this side of Grady Judd. There are alternatives but politics seems more important to Judd. The county commission need to get off their behinds & do something to help Judd figure it out!
I guess to me it seems like Grady Judd feels he doesn’t have time to do a little research and realize just how beneficial TNR is to the community. He is pretty great at everything else too bad he doesn’t contact those groups that can do this and actually take the time to listen. It is an outstanding program and worth his time.
Please listen. Don’t keep killing when it is not necessary.

Until I hear an explanation from the man himself, I will refrain from judgement. I am a cat lover myself so it concerns me when I see things like this. Grady Judd is an awesome Sheriff and individual. Let’s hear the whole story before we make the judgement call!
Check out Australias cat problem and then you might think twice about condemning Mr.Judd with his efforts.
And also there was a article about over populating cats in one of Floridas parks where they were killing all kinds of bird species that migrate here…
Cats are killers and don’t always eat there what they kill!
Who we need to stop is puppy mills and cat mills..so sick of hearing poor dogs and cats being put to sleep because human beings are irresponsible pieces of crap!

I’m assuming this is a hit piece against the sheriff unless he himself is responsible: it’s usually the county commission that makes these decisions, not the sheriff.
They are overrun with cats and dogs but want a lot of money for adoptions. Makes no sense!
That idiot Grady Judd is the biggest moron to ever wear a badge!!!! He only cares about putting his stupid face on TV and he just craves everyone’s attention and if he put 1/10th of that effort into being a actual sheriff then he would have the most crime free county in Florida!!!! But he spends 8 hours a day putting on makeup so he can put his face on TV!!!!!!
