Congratulations to our newest Driver Engineer Candice McLendon! Candice joined Lakeland Fire Department in November 2014 as a Firefighter/EMT, for which she has served for the past eight years.
Candice graduated Mulberry High School in 2002 and completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2008 from Sanford Brown University with an additional certification in Motion Capture Technologies. She then completed her Fire Certification in 2013 at the Citrus County Public Safety Training Center through the Withlacoochee Technical Institute and received her EMT certification in 2013 from Hillsborough Community College.
Candice is currently a Deputy Regional Vice President of a 501(c3) non-profit educational organization and a competitive member of the International Medieval Combat Federation.
Candice’s professional goals include completing her Associate in Fire Science at Hillsborough Community College, enrolling in a paramedic school, and working to be a lieutenant.
Congratulations to Candice for her promotion to Driver Engineer. She has been a valuable asset to the department and the community. We wish her the best in her future goals and continued career with Lakeland Fire Department
