Two deaths in Polk County reported by other media related to Hurricane Ian are false, the local medical examiner said Saturday morning.
Dr. Stephen Nelson, the medical examiner for the 10th Judicial Circuit, said his office had recorded no deaths related to Hurricane Ian as of 8:40 a.m. on Saturday.
“We’ve had no deaths in Polk County as of this moment,” Nelson said.
