POSTPONED DUE TO FDOT WANTING TO CLOSE THE ENTIRE ROADWAY FOR THE PROJECT.
The City of Lakeland Wastewater Collection Division will need to repair a broken sewer lateral that is underneath Florida Avenue (SR 37) between Main Street and the CSX railroad tracks. The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 6th around 7 a.m. and will continue until completion. Crews will remove the failed portion and replace it with a section of the new pipe as part of the construction.
It is estimated that the work will take five days to complete so motorists are encouraged to avoid the area while the project is taking place. During the repair, traffic will be shifted to the southbound two lanes of Florida Avenue with one through the lane for each direction. Lane closure and traffic control signage will be in place for the duration of the repair. Again, motorists are encouraged to use an alternative route if at all possible, during the work week starting Monday, March 6th through Friday, March 10th.
