When I first started my event bartending business I had a bride choose a Moscow Mule as her signature drink for her wedding. My initial thought was that no one would order this at a wedding. It seems to have a specific small fanbase. But the bride knew what she wanted, as most brides do! And she insisted on a specific brand of ginger beer. Let me tell you I ate my words that night! I must have made two hundred Moscow Mules! The recipe I used was the best I’d ever had! I don’t normally like to push one brand over another but Gosling’s brand ginger beer is worth the exception!
You guys know that I am not a stickler for using specific bar glasses at home. But if you like this drink it is defiantly worth investing in a couple of copper mule mugs.
• .5 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
• 2 oz. vodka
• Chilled ginger beer
Optional: a dash of simple syrup
Garnish with a candied ginger stick or a sprig of fresh mint
