Today was one of those days! Oh, who am I kidding, it’s been one of those
years already! And this week, after finally deciding on a color we’ve started to
paint the house. Trying to squeeze this project in between pollen season and
before the real heat hits us. (Blessed are those who work out in this heat) The
house, however, had different ideas! Between removing old paint and paining
on the new a plumbing emergency decided to popped up that put a halt to
everything outside!
So, at the end of a very long day, when you just want to relax, the last thing you
want to do is go out among the crowds of people to have a drink. So, today’s
recipe is from one of my favorite restaurants and it’s too easy not to make at
home. I give you, The Spring Fling Martini!
2 oz. cucumber vodka
4 oz. very ripe watermelon (I like to blend mine first)
A squeeze of lemon juice
Chill your martini glass by letting it sit full of ice water while you mix your
ingredients. In a cocktail shaker full of ice add all your ingredients and shake it
like the paint can separating in the garage. Dump the ice water and strain the
mix into the glass. Garnish with fresh basil. Enjoy.
