Incident Description
At 14:00 on April 20, 2023 a boring contractor hit a City of Lakeland 12? forcemain at 8000 North Rd 33. City crews responded with vactor trucks and repair crews. An upstream pump station was shut down and maintained with a vactor truck while the repair was made. The pipe was returned to service at 18:00. Approximately 3,000 gallons was spilled and contained at the site and recovered. Preliminary cleanup activities were started last night and will be completed today. There was no impact to waters of the State.
