- Burger King #5037, 7000 S Florida Ave, Lakeland, was temporarily closed May 15 because wastewater backing up through floor drains when a three-compartment sink was running. The issue was corrected by a follow-up inspection the next day, and the restaurant reopened.
- Denny’s 6824, 4325 S. Florida Ave., Lakeland: On May 15, the restaurant received eight violations, one of them high priority. That was for a live roach found on a wall. The manager killed the roach and sanitized the area and the restaurant met standards in a follow-up inspection the next day.
