A Lakes & Stormwater crew was recently spotted cleaning out one of the City’s pollution control devices (PCDs) located at Lake Parker. A PCD helps trap pollution before it gets to the lake.
What were they cleaning out you might ask? Litter, LOTS and LOTS of LITTER! Sadly, trash thrown on the ground or out the car window travels through storm drains during rain events and ends up in the lakes. This can pollute the water and harm the wildlife that live there. Thanks to the hard work of these vacuum truck operators who regularly clean out this PCD and others, we can be assured that Lake Parker has a lot less trash in it.
