Drag has dominated the headlines recently after Tennessee became the first state to pass a law restricting drag performances – classifying them as ‘adult only’ and making sure kids can’t see it. . . But not all drag shows are for those 18 and up. In fact, there are some family-friendly drag shows with a focus on spreading the message of inclusion.
Florida’s “Protection of Children Act,” passed this year by the Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis, seeks to prevent venues from admitting children to “adult live performances.” But it has been temporarily blocked by a federal judge, who found the law’s language too broad.
