Crews will close the U.S. 27 on-ramp to Interstate 4 westbound at Exit 55 tonight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., the Florida Department of Transportation said in a news release.
Motorists are advised to follow posted detour signs or use alternate routes. Crews will again close the same ramp on Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Crews are working on resurfacing the on-ramp as part of the I-4 resurfacing project from State Road 557 to the Polk/Osceola County Line, the release said. The project is expected to be completed by late 2024.
Those attempting to head west on I-4 from the U.S. 27 area will have to consider other routes during the ramp closure, including Deen Still Road to the north or Old Polk City Road farther south in Haines City.
