The moment the calendar rolls into September, one is sure to see the emergence of two particular flavors: apple cider and pumpkin spice. These flavors can be found in your local coffee shop as a hot apple cider drink or a pumpkin spice latte during the fall season. These flavors, however, can be found in a variety of other food and drink items. Pumpkin spice ice cream, apple cider donuts…

So which flavor is the superior fall flavor? Pumpkin spice or apple cider? Ooh that’s a hard one…pumpkin spice is good for crisp fall mornings, but cider is better for a cozy autumn night. But who says you have to choose?
This Pumpkin Apple Shandy combines both flavors into 1 smooth and enticing beverage.
The drink itself is not all that strong because you are really only having 1/2 of a full beer. However, adding the bourbon gives it a nice little kick and takes it up just a notch.
But of course, the bourbon, while highly recommended, is purely optional. You can just go ahead and try the shandy with just the pumpkin beer and apple cider and see how you like it.
For an extra kick I recommend trying Jack Daniels Vanilla!
