A Gulf War veteran with PTSD and hearing loss was denied entry to an American Legion Post with her service dog. Despite the dog’s certification, the Post’s commander cited it as a private club, exempt from the Americans with Disabilities Act.

A Legion post told me I couldn’t join because they didn’t accept losers like us Vietnam Veterans. I was there as a Medic 1966-1968! I see they haven’t changed! Has a dog ever been in a Legion post and gotten drunk, loud and boisterous, started a fight or anything like that? No, they lay by their Vet.
This must be a special club of rich guys or elites, they are not real military if they disrespect one of us because we need an animal to enjoy life just a bit more. Real soldiers “fight for the oppressed “. This Commander should resign and apologize to his members.
