While this book is not for the faint of heart, it was a riveting read from beginning to end. If you cannot stomach some gruesome acts done by the serial killers (including but not limited to: accidental cannibalism), then I suggest you to opt out of this book. However, the author does a wonderful job warning you in the first few pages with a list of trigger warnings. This installment of the Ruinous Love Trilogy had me rooting for both characters from beginning to end. Even the side characters become a key part of the plot without being overwhelming to the story. At times, I found myself not wanting the story to end. While this romance is classified as a slow burn, I found that the time gaps throughout the story did not leave us missing information, and helped with the enjoyable pacing of the book. This book even had me laughing out loud at a few points. The spice in itself was dark and sensual. I haven’t seen such quality within true dark romance written so well in quite a long time. Thank you Brynne Weaver for such an amazing book. I cannot wait for the next installment: Leather and Lark, as well as the meeting for Bistro Book Babes on the 23rd of April.
