Cory Petcoff initially asked for $195,000 to help transform the Florida National Bank building into a steakhouse. CRA approved for up to $250,000.
CRA board members were undecided. On the one hand, City Commissioner Guy LaLonde Jr. said, “The possibility for having something comparable to Capital Grille in Lakeland is long overdue.”
LaLonde said he favored capping incentives for the project at $250,000 in case other worthy downtown projects emerge.
The rest of the board agreed and approved incentives up to $250,000 to be paid once the project is completed and its developers can document eligible construction costs.
