We now have Tropical Storm Milton with winds of 40 mph. Remember, the NHC tracks update every 6 hours. (5pm, 11pm, 5am and 11am) One other important reminder. The cone you see is not manipulated or moved by the NHC based on the expected track of the storm.
It has NOTHING to do with the actual storm forecast. It is merely the average margin of error on a track by the NHC over the past 5 years. If the average error is 150 miles on Day 5 (It is), that’s how far the cone extends from the forecast center of the storm. Most models are showing if there were to be a change in track, it would be South, not North. As always, we’ll be updating 24/7.
