Incident Description
City crews responded to a pump failure at a lift station located at 2100 W 10th Street in Lakeland. Crews arrived at lift station at 8:30 am. Crews investigated the problem and determined a ball valve was the issue. Closed the valve tree to lift station and started the repair. Once bolts were taken off to replace ball valve, flow entered valve box and then into drainage ditch next the lift station. Flow into valve box started at 9:30am. Called in Vac truck to vacuum station and area. Repairs completed at 10:30am. Approximately 200 gallons went into drainage ditch. Lime and washed area.
