than a ribbon cutting for our Safe Place For Strays!!!
Thank you to the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce, its members, and Mayor Bill Mutz for coming out today to show your support of our mission in this county!!
We had a vision in our hearts and thanks to partial funding from the GiveWell Foundation we were able to bring it to fruition! We wanted to create a space where strays could be safe during evenings and weekends for the hours that Animal Control is not open. We wanted a place they could go so they are not left on the side of the road or in a dangerous situation and the citizens don’t feel helpless leaving a dog in distress. This is a place of safety till we can get them scanned for a chip, try to reunite them with their families, and figure out their stories.
It’s the first of its kind in the county and we are blessed to be able to offer help in this way. Our community is amazing and your support makes saving lives happen.
