Polk County Fire Rescue (PCFR) crews responded to an unexploded ordnance in Fort Meade. The call came after a group of children discovered a military training grenade while playing in an open lot.
PCFR secured the area while the State Fire Marshal Bomb Squad investigated and retrieved the grenade.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with the call.
