A new name will appear on the storefront, but the story behind it carries decades of experience, resilience, and renewal.
A locally owned computer sales and service business is celebrating its grand opening in Lakeland this week. While the business name is new to the community, the journey that led here began more than 30 years ago.
In 1995, Dale Jorden first ventured into the world of computers, alongside his young son, turning curiosity into a small garage-based operation. That modest beginning quickly gained traction, leading to the opening of the first retail location in 1998. As demand grew, so did the business, prompting two additional moves to larger facilities over the years.
At its peak, the company operated from a sizable location, serving a wide base of customers and building a reputation grounded in trust and personal service. Many of those customers became lasting friendships-relationships built on what he describes as “a business built on integrity.”
That chapter came to a close during the COVID pandemic. Facing the challenges that affected many small businesses, Jorden made the difficult decision to close and sell the operation. Retirement followed, but it proved to be less fulfilling than expected. Those close to him said, “He missed the interaction, the problem-solving, and the sense of purpose. It wasn’t just work-it was part of who he is.”
Recently, Jorden and his wife decided: “Let’s Just Do It!” The process moved swiftly. Planning, renovations, and setup were followed by the increasing challenge of sourcing inventory. Piece by piece, the new store came together.
The name on the door may be unfamiliar, but Jorden hopes the values behind it will quickly resonate and be a reminder- It’s a new chapter, but the same values: A Business Built on Integrity.
