It is not a construction plan.
It is simply a dream.
But every meaningful project begins as a dream.
A few years ago, DLB Cat Rescue and Polk City Kitties started with nothing more than a handful of people trying to help a few cats. Today, hundreds of animals have found homes, thousands of supporters have joined our journey, and our vision continues to grow.
Imagine a future where:
PetSmart helps support adoptions and community outreach.
Publix helps feed families, volunteers, and rescue animals.
Local businesses step forward as partners instead of spectators.
Veterinary services, spay/neuter programs, education, and adoption centers work side-by-side.
Polk County Animal Control becomes part of a larger lifesaving network focused on solutions.
Every rescue, large or small, has a place at the table.
Most importantly…
Every animal gets a better chance.
I don’t pretend I could build something like this by myself. Truthfully, I’d be happy with one small corner and a few kennels where we could continue helping cats and kittens in need.
But I also know something else:
Nobody ever changes the world by thinking small.
So for now, we dream.
We imagine.
We start conversations.
And maybe one day, people will look back and realize that what seemed impossible was simply a group of ordinary people who cared enough to believe it could be done.
Until then, we’ll keep doing what we’ve always done—one cat, one kitten, one adoption, one life at a time.
