Fort Myers Mayor Kevin Anderson has resigned from the board of the United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties, according to a fresh report from Gulf Coast News.
It marks the third resignation following allegations of sexual misconduct from young men first reported by the Lighthouse. On Sept. 17, he resigned from the Florida Gulf Coast University Alumni Association board of directors, and a day after that he departed the Valerie’s House board.
Anderson’s bio indicates he remains a member of the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, where he “serves as a mentor for the Foundation’s ‘Take Stock in Children’ program, which provides a unique opportunity for deserving, low-income youth to escape the cycle of poverty through education.”
He also continues to be listed as chairman of the Premier Mobile Health Services Board of Directors, and remains mayor, a position he said, after denying wrongdoing at the tumultuous Sept. 21 council meeting, he intends to keep.

Anderson propositioned “very young” men, she wrote, and the behavior amounted to sexual harassment in the workplace.

“Sad world we live in where these government officials feel as if they are above society and can harass and abuse others because of their title,” concluded. “SICK.”

I verified the woman’s identify and contacted her by phone. What follows is her disturbing description of what she said she heard and saw. It’s a story that echoes a previous allegation and includes a particularly humiliating scene for the mayor, who has resigned from two boards of directors since the scandal broke. He has repeatedly denied wrongdoing. …
