Fatal Hit-and-Run Motorcycle vs SUV
Lakeland police and Polk County deputies are searching for a man in connection with the motorcycle crash near North Wabash Avenue and West Parker Street. The rider reportedly suffered serious injuries.
The man is described as a young Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and 160 pounds, wearing a gray or white shirt and black pants. A red Chevy Suburban believed to be involved was reportedly abandoned on Emma Street. The man was last reported walking toward a nearby 7-Eleven.
The description and direction of travel are preliminary. If you see someone matching it, do not approach or follow him. Call 911 and provide your location and what you observed.
Multiple callers reported that a red SUV left the scene. Its make and model have not been confirmed. A witness reportedly followed the SUV and is providing information to authorities.
